This stator cover is meant to guard the front sprocket when gearing is changed. Thumpstar pit bikes have case savers that need to be removed once the stock 15T front sprocket is changed to a bigger size, when the guard is removed the front sprocket is left with no guard over it, this stator cover has a built-in guard that covers the front sprocket regardless of the size sprocket.
